To receive Green America’s Seal of Approval, businesses must undergo a comprehensive screening and review process. Green America’s screening team reviews all applications, plus other information gathered through research and interviews to determine a company’s familiarity with and commitment to social and environmental responsibility.

To earn the prestigious Green America Seal of Approval, companies must demonstrate that they actively use their businesses as tools for positive social change, run “values-driven” enterprises that operate according to principles of social justice and environmental sustainability, are socially and environmentally responsible in the way they source, manufacture and market their products, and are committed to developing and employing extraordinary practices that benefit workers, customers, communities and the environment.

Barkha’s Custom Sourcing provides its customers sustainable fabrics that include handloom textiles that have been created from natural and renewable fibers, woven using traditional methods by artisans in India and Nepal. Barkha’s fabrics utilize only low impact, non-toxic dyes. “My goal is to offer my clients alternative sustainable textile choices, and to promote the beautiful handloom crafts of the artisans who create them using their local renewable, natural resources,” Barkha states.

The result is an eclectic selection of eco-friendly and organic fabrics from the far corners of the globe.
